The extract "Trejos devynerios" was awarded as the best product of the year in Lithuania and decorated with the medal in 1999.

THE QUALITY OF EXTRACT

The quality of extract is established by the article of Farmakopeja FS 112: 200.

PURENESS

Dry remnant Not less than 1.8 %. According to Ph. Eur. 1997:0792.
Relative density 0,935 - 0,960 ( Ph. Eur. 1997, 2.2.5).
Etanol Not less than 37 %. According to Ph. Eur. 1997, 2.9.10.
Heavy metals Not more than 0.01 % (Ph. Eur. 1997, 2.4.8).
The number of bitter taste Not less than 2900 (The methodology adapted to FP V and ZLPN I. L.).

DETERMINATION OF QUANTITY

Determined using the method of high-pressure liquid chromatography.
Adapting this method to the length of radio wave 254 nm, 9 characteristic spikes are obtained, with the length of 289 nm, 7 ones. The area of spikes has to be not less than the data in the table.

When the length of radio wave is 254 nm, rutin, izokvercitin and kvercitin are determined, and when the length of the radio wave is 289 nm, phrangulin and ? - tujon are determined. The amount of those materials should be not less than it is specified in the table (mg/ ml of the extract).

MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION

1ml of the extract should contain not more than 104 aerobic bacterium and not more than 102 funguses, enterobacterium and other negative bacterium. It shouldn't contain Staphhhylococcus aureus, Salmonella and Escherichia coli. According to Ph. Eur. 1997, 2.6.12, 5.1.3, and 5.1.4 requirements.
